Experience an exciting adventure to amethyst mine in Luosto and learn about the geological wonders while enjoying the breath-taking landscapes of Lapland.
After a brief introduction, you’ll embark on a journey that takes you deep into the wilderness of Lapland. The scenic drive to Luosto will go through the forests and hills, and you might have even a possibility to see a glimpse of wildlife along the way. Discover the 2000 million years old amethyst mine and search for your very own amethysts. Before entering the mine, you’ll receive a safety briefing, and all the necessary equipment will be provided.
Enjoy the experience of digging for amethysts and witness the raw beauty of these crystals which emerge from the ground. After the experience you will have some free time for shopping and a possibility to treat yourself with local delicacies at Pyhä before heading back to Rovaniemi.

Please notice, that thermal clothing is not included to the program price and therefore we recommend to wear warm winter clothes. If you would like to rent thermal clothing, please contact sales office or guest service for assistance.
The group experience operates in small groups of maximum of 8 persons. This experience is meant for adults, children 3-15 years old. The minimum number of participants required for this activity is two paying adults.
Please notice, that Amethyst Mine is located top of the hill and therefore tour includes some walking in stairs. For that reason tour is not recommended for people with moving disabilities.
